Hopeful Hearts Opening School in Afghanistan
Hopeful Hearts is proud to announce the opening of a new school for street children in Kabul, Afghanistan.
During the month of February, a site was selected for the school and staff is in place to begin welcoming children in March of 2009. This school will provide an education opportunity for approximately 100 children. For these children it will be their first opportunity to attend a structured school program.
The school will provide all educational materials, school supplies, and a hot lunch every day. Years and years of war have taken a toll on this country and the children are suffering the consequences. Most of these children will come from war torn families where they are either orphaned or the primary breadwinner for the family.
