Hopeful Hearts announced last month the opening of a new school for street children in Kabul, Afghanistan. The project is well under way and final preparations are being made for our grand opening in March 2009. School teachers and staff are already in place and anxiously awaiting the arrival of 100 children in March 2009. This school will provide an education opportunity for approximately 100 children. HopefulHearts Foundation held its 7th annual fundraising dinner on February 14, 2009. Over 330 people attended the event, “An Evening of Loving Hearts.” The event has become a Louisville tradition for celebrating Valentine’s day with dinner, dance, and silent auction. The dinner is Hopeful Hearts’ primary fundraiser throughout the year and proceeds support orphan and abandoned children in Ukraine, Afghanistan, and India.
