On February 12, 2011, Hopeful Hearts will host its annual “Evening of Loving Hearts” gala. This event has established a reputation of being one of the city’s most successful dinner fundraiser events. In today’s challenging economic and political culture, your support of Hopeful Hearts Foundation, Inc. is more critical than ever. Over 90% of the annual operating budget of Hopeful Hearts comes from this event. Please prayerfully consider joining us fo a wonderful evening to benefit the children.

This year we are pleased to offer an “Evening of Song.” The Galileans, outstanding acapella group, will be joining us to provide dinner music and then during our program we are excited to have Chris Strickland in concert. Melissa Swan of WHAS-11 will be returning as our emcee. It will be an outstanding evening of music and a time for us to share how God is working in this ministry.

We are also looking for corporate sponsors and silent auction items. As a sponsor you will receive valuable recognition during the event, acknowledgement in Southeast Outlook and The Voice Tribune newspapers but most importantly you will be making a difference in children’s lives. Please call or email if you would like additional information regarding sponsorship or would like to donate an item for our silent auction.

Hopeful Hearts announced last month the opening of a new school for street children in Kabul, Afghanistan. The project is well under way and final preparations are being made for our grand opening in March 2009. School teachers and staff are already in place and anxiously awaiting the arrival of 100 children in March 2009.

This school will provide an education opportunity for approximately 100 children. For these children it will be their first opportunity to attend a structured school program. The school will provide all educational materials, school supplies, and a hot lunch every day. Years and years of war have taken a toll on this country and the children are suffering the consequences. Most of these children will come from war torn families where they are either orphaned or the primary breadwinner for the family.

Total estimated cost for this project is $41,000 per year. Please consider sponsoring a child for an entire year for as little as $34/mo or $400/year.

View photos from Hopeful Hearts 7th annual "An Evening of Loving Hearts" dinner held on February 14, 2009.

HopefulHearts Foundation held its 7th annual fundraising dinner on February 14, 2009. Over 330 people attended the event, “An Evening of Loving Hearts.” The event has become a Louisville tradition for celebrating Valentine’s day with dinner, dance, and silent auction. The dinner is Hopeful Hearts’ primary fundraiser throughout the year and proceeds support orphan and abandoned children in Ukraine, Afghanistan, and India.

Hopeful Hearts was honored to have Melissa Swan of WHAS 11 serve as emcee, and music was provided by Kim Dunn and Double Vision. We had a very special speaker all the way from Ukraine, Tonia Tshkay. Tonia shared her experiences working with children in Ukraine and will always be a dear friend to Hopeful Hearts. Thank you to our sponsors and the countless volunteers who made the evening possible.
