Hopeful Hearts Foundation is partnering with Footprints Ministries, which consists of a board of eight Christian women caring for 45 orphans in the Colombo, Sri Lanka area. The foundation of the Footprints ministry is to teach the children about the love of Jesus. All of these children are orphaned or abandoned children and have been saved from living on the streets in a predominately Buddhist country.  Hopeful Hearts visited the children in the spring of 2010 and provided new sheets and pajamas for the girls and new sheets, sports equipment and games for the boys.  During the Hopeful Hearts visit, it was discovered that the boys’ home is limited in space and is currently in a rented, run down house. Hopeful Hearts has committed to building a new house for the boys on property already owned by the Footprints. Once completed, this new house will be a wonderful place for the boys to call home.

This ministry provides a structured Christian family like atmosphere for the children. The children attend school and are encouraged to become involved in hobbies and sports. Each home has one live in caregiver who helps with cooking and cleaning. The children work together and each child has weekly chores. The older children help with the younger ones just as a family. They eat, sleep, clean, work, and worship together and are living a loving family life. The main goal for the children is to equip them for a fruitful Christian life.
